Durbanville Success for Pathfork

Blue blooded filly Inbetween Dreams, a half-sister to former Equus Champion French Navy, added considerably to her paddock value when she got off the mark at Fairview on Friday.

A four-year-old daughter of Silvano, the Gavin Smith trained filly had finished fourth last time out, and, prior to that run, ran second over 2000 metres.

Dropping back to 1600m for Friday’s Tellytrack.Com Maiden Plate (F&M), Inbetween Dreams made no mistakes.

Under Marco Van Rensburg, the Sandown Stud bred filly powered home to shed her maiden by a convincing one and a quarter lengths for the Purple Kingdom Syndicate and her trainer.

Inbetween Dreams is the fourth winner produced by the five time winning Elliodor mare Redoubtable, who filled the runner up berth in the Listed East Cape Paddock Stakes.

A half-sister to champion Disco Queen, Redoubtable is best known, however, as the dam of the Sandown Stud bred French Navy -South Africa’s Champion 3YO Colt/Gelding of 2014-2015. A son of Count Dubois, French Navy earned over R5 million in a career which saw him capture both the G1 SA Classic and G1 Daily News, and finish second in both the G1 Champions Challenge and G1 Horse Chestnut Stakes.

Redoubtable is also the dam of the useful gelding Corvette Captain -who recently won over 1200m at the Vaal.

Sandown Stud will be offering 11 two-year-olds at the upcoming November Two Year Old Sale, plus further three lots on behalf of Shadwell SA.
