Winter Success For Sandown Stud

Fresh off enjoying a double at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday, Sandown Stud struck yet again at that Durban course when the Sandown reared and raised Winter Waves captured Monday’s eighth and final race at Greyville.

Under Kyle Strydom, four-year-old Winter Waves came with a sustained late run down the inside of the track to win Monday’s Hollywoodbets Bright Future MR 69 Apprentice Handicap (1400m) by just over three-parts of a length.

A gelded son of Drakenstein Stud’s inform stallion What A Winter, Winter Waves is trained by Alyson Wright.

Winter Waves has now won three of his last four starts and has four wins to his name overall.

The gelding, a R300 000 buy from the 2019 KZN Yearling Sale, is out of the winning Captain Al mare Lady Al -a daughter of G2 SA Oaks winner Noble Destiny.
